All Grad Night volunteers are required to attend a mandatory safety training on Wednesday, June 5 from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in the Large Gym.
Casino Staff will also attend a casino training with David Sullivan after the mandatory safety training. That event should last about an hour.
Security: We'll need parent/guardian volunteers stationed inside our event perimeter to ensure our LGHS students stay safely inside the party while keeping other curious lookie-loos outside the party. Grab a friend and help us staff this simple, but important position.
Traffic Control Staff: We strongly recommend that Graduates get rides to Grad Night. Our student drop-off location will be in front of the Design Building off Pleasant Street. Students will walk from the Design Building to the event entrance on New York Ave in front of the Music Building. Students who drive to Grad Night will be directed down New York Ave, which will turn into a one-way street from 10:00 p.m. to midnight. Student drivers will be instructed to park in the Junior Lot. Traffic Control Staff will be on hand to ensure that this plan is executed in a safe and organized manner.
Food & Beverage Server: We'll have exciting food and beverage options for students to enjoy on Grad Night in many of our event zones. Join the team that will help prep and serve great food throughout the night. Food & beverage volunteers will either dress up in costumes or wear a Grad Night apron. You'll learn more from your Food & Beverage coordinator once you've signed up for this role.
Student Check-In Desk Agents: These volunteers will be trained to use our Pinwheel event platform and be staffed at Gate 1, our Student Entrance. It will be their responsibility to check in all students and issue them wristbands. We ask that Desk Agents wear white shirts and black jeans. We'll provide a simple costume so that our Desk Agents appear to work for Skycat Airlines. Desk Agents must bring their own MAC or PC computer and power charger to the event. Please do not sign up for this role if that is an issue.
Baggage Handlers: These volunteers will be staffed in two locations during Grad Night, Gate 1 for the first shift and Gate 10 for shifts, two and three. It will be the responsibility of Baggage Handlers to collect and tag a student's personal belongings and store them in our coat check as well as return personal belongings to students when each student departs.
First Aid: We're seeking RNs, doctors, and First Responders to fill our First Aid shifts on Grad Night. Sign up today if you're a medical health professional.
Zone Monitor: Help keep your zone running smoothly by roaming your area ensuring trash is not overflowing, supplies are stocked, movies or TV programs are at appropriate sounds levels, etc... You can also act as the person who relieves other team members in the event they need a quick break.
Photographer & Videographer: Documenting this exceptional event with photos and video is a big and important task. If you're a skilled photographer or videographer please sign up for this role! We'll need multiple people to cover the entire event space over all 3 shifts. Photographers are asked to upload and share images to our Grad Night photo stream. You must own your own equipment.
Passport Agent: This year, graduates will play a game while attending the party. The game requires that students visit all 6 of our outdoor event spaces and get a "stamp" in their passport while there. Completed passports will be eligible for our Grand Prize Drawing at 5:00 a.m. In this role, you'll be the passport agent placing a sticker inside each students passbook. You'll be asked to dress like a passport agent so that students can identify you. More information will be shared by your coordinator closer to the event.
Ride/Gaming Staff: Grad Night has many zones. Most zones have rides or games. Sign up for this role to help facilitate a ride or game in one of our event spaces.
Waitlist Monitor: Some of our most popular attractions have lines. To help manage lines, we'll have wait-lists. Sign up to manage the wait-list and text students when it's their turn. This will ensure our students enjoy the party instead of waiting in a line. You must supply your own cell phone, but we'll have phone chargers at the event.
Hair Stylist/Nail Technician: Are you a LGHS alum and a professional stylist? We'd love your help staffing one of our most popular attractions—the Salon. Only the first and second shifts are needed for this fun and popular activity.
Face Painter: We're seeking a handful of parents/guardians to paint simple cat paws or LGHS logos on the smiling faces of our senior graduates. If this describes you, please sign up.
Stage Manager: Grad Night will have two stage events over the course of the evening. Our headliner goes on stage at 3:00 a.m. and our closing entertainment takes the stage at 5:00 a.m. In this role, you'll be the point person for all talent and help ensure decor and facilities teams have successfully set up and installed what's needed for each show. It would be helpful if the person who fills this role is comfortable creating a Run-Of-Show document so that support teams know what is going on the stage during each performance.
Casino Staff: This is one of the most coveted volunteer roles at Grad Night—positions fill fast. The ideal candidates are outgoing personalities who really know how to play Blackjack, Poker and Roulette. Pit Boss Sullivan and Team will host a training event to ensure this team executes in top form.
Raffle Prize Administrator: Students will have multiple chances to win raffle prizes throughout the event. We'd like to find a small handful of volunteers to manage and execute our hourly raffle giveaways from 11:30 p.m. to 2:30 a.m. in addition to the Grand Prize raffle drawing at 5:00 a.m.
VR Room Attendant: On Grad Night, the Wrestling Room will be transformed into a VR collaborative space. Join this team and you'll be responsible for managing the line, ensuring shoes are off, cleaning our VR Headsets, and keeping equipment charged. Sign up to learn more from the VR Room team coordinator.
Senior Museum Docent: The Senior Museum is one of the most beloved destinations on Grad Night. Parents and Guardians have lovingly assembled memory boards for their student(s) and posted it in the Small Gym. Grad Night is the first time Seniors have seen what their parents have produced. There may be tears and lots of laughter. You, and a few friends can be the docents for the evening as students tour through the space reminiscing about their journey from adolescence to adulthood.
Vendor and Volunteer Check-In Staff: These volunteers will be trained to use our Pinwheel event platform and will be stationed inside the Design Wing in the hallway. It will be their responsibility to check in all vendors and volunteers and ensure all adults entering our event space have the appropriate credentials. They will also help inform vendors and volunteers with where to go.
